In my years starting my day with kratom, Eden White Veined Maeng Da has become my favorite kratom. I when I started using kratom years ago it was to get off an opioid habit which started while I was receiving treatment for cancer. At first, I used the opioid agonist varieties like red veined Bali but the typical opioid side effects like itching, difficulty breathing, and insufficient perspiration went from uncomfortable to dangerous, so I gradually switched to the Eden Indonesian white veined Maeng Da which is an opioid antagonist rather than an agonist.
Using just a half teaspoon per cup this white veined kratom has had none of the side effects of the agonist heavy varieties and was a great addition to my morning coffee. Granted, it does not have the same opioid based pain revealing punch as an opioid agonist, but because its antagonist (opposite of agonist), it has helped me to up-regulate (grow back) opioid receptors lost while on surgeon prescribed pharmaceutical opiates. While providing a mellower wake-up than coffee alone it has also gently relieved minor aches and pains of old age. (Your mileage may vary.)
