Hedychium Butterfly Ginger- Tai Conch Pink Rooted
Hedychium are deciduous herbaceous perennials with thick, fleshy, branched rhizomes. Their "stems" are not true stems in the botanical sense. They are more properly called pseudostems because they are composed of long, succulent, interlocked leaf petioles. The leaves clasp the pseudostem and merge directly with it. Pseudostems and clasping leaves are common in this group of plants and can also be seen in related plants such as canna, curcuma and bananas.
The pine cone-like inflorescences ...(more) |

Michelia figo (Banana shrub) - Rooted #GN
Michelia figo is a medium size shrub for full to partial sun. It flowers during the warmer months and the flowers have a wonderful tropical "fruit-like" fragrance. Some say the flowers smell like bananas. This plant is unusual and not found too easily for sale. I would recommend this as a substitute for Michelia alba. It is in general a smaller plant which can be grown in a pot. The flowers are also super fragrant and it blooms much younger than M. alba.
The banana shrub is so called beca ...(more) |

This evergreen tropical vine blooms during summer and fall: glossy point burgundy-brown buds open into flowers with 5 partially overlapped petals of an unusual tint of pink – cherry ice cream. Brunfelsia americana (Lady of Night) Rooted Seedling
"To say 'fragrant' is utterly inadequate because in bloom the
air is suddenly bursting with a sweet powerful scent somewhat
like true jasmine, but also punctuated with a strong array of
additional aromas including cloves, oriental 5-spice powder and cinnamon!" Lady of the Night is like great wine, complex and delicious. Lady-of-the-Night is the most amazingly aromatic plant we have ever enjoyed. The word fragrance is too weak to describe the power of its unique and unrivaled mixture of s ...(more) |

Hibiscus acetosella (Haight Ashbury) Rooted
People will chuckle when they see the leaf and hear the name of this plant. Indeed, it does have some resemblance to marijuana in its shape, hence the name for that famous San Francisco location of the 1960s.
Hibiscus acetosella is a tropical hibiscus grown mostly for its foliage -- at least that is why I like it. To me, the flower is inconsequential or, at best, a conversation item. The foliage is simply dazzling. It's like getting to have a fiery red maple showing off all summer. It has ...(more) |

Cestrum nocturnum, Night Blooming Jasmine- Rooted #GN
Cestrum nocturnum has one of the strongest fragrance out of all the fragrant plants we carry. In the evening the fragrance becomes almost intoxicating.

Plants bloom on and off during the warmer months of the year. Night Blooming Jasmine grows very fast. You will have to trim it back (after the flowers) and upgra ...(more) |
