Bulbine natalensis is a succulent plant native to South Africa. It’s known locally as rooiwortel (red root) in Afrikaans, ibhucu by the Zulu or ingcelwane by the Xhosa. African herbalists traditionally use the herb as an aphrodisiac and the root was prescribed to men with impotence problems.

Yohimbe is a small evergreen tree native to central Africa, primarily in the nations of Cameroon, Gabon, and Zaire. The terms yohimbine, yohimbine hydrochloride, and yohimbe bark extract are related but different. Yohimbe refers to the herb.
